Secretary of straight said the recent nuclear deal with iran will make the area safer. Earlier meetings with egyptian officials covered a wide range of topics including the countrys human right records. He said the key to ending isil. s campaign was to stop recruit nlt of foreign fighters. Even the larger imperative is to persuade and prevent young people from turning to terror in the first place. Otherwise no matter how many terrorists we bring to justice those groups will simply replenish their ranks and we will not be safer. We will be involved in a round robin, circular, repetitive process. The strategic dilos represents the two parties to review military and economic relationship and evaluate the relationship with what we see as threat to the two nations. We get the latest from los angeles. Thank you for being us with us on the program. U. S. Egyptian relations have done through a rocky patch. Are they back to levels before the ousting of the egyptian president . No, they are not back where they were. The u. S. Egyptian relationships have faced a few rough patches. First with the ouster of mubarak and coming the power of morse see who was a Muslim Brotherhood favorite and the ongoing back and forth rhetorical and on the ground between the u. S. And egypt it has caused a lot of tension. People who support moresee are angry for not having done enough to support what they consider to be a legitimately elected government. On the other hand, those who were against him think the u. S. Was way too much in support and supportive of a Muslim Brotherhood government in egypt. And a widespread large scale crack down and humeon Rights Violations we will see that relations never got better. The u. S. Is going toward a direction where stability and having strong tie system more important than other considering factors. Iran will receive a lot of sanctions, not just necessarily the Nuclear Program that make states concerned and worried but irans expanding sphere of influence that has them on their toes. The saudi egyptian and Turkish Alliance against iron is very worried about this deal. Turky and egypt have faced rough patches too in their relationship after the ouster, but we see in terms of dealing with iran and some extremists in the reej yoon and trying to out of the president they see eye to eye. Egypt has a major problem dealing with extremists eandley in northeast egypt. For many reasons egypt has not been successful to fully crack down on the terrorists. They are trying to crack down and trying to bring stability there. There are some root causes that have to be resolved. One of them is the political situation in egypt. So long as you dont have a free venue for expressing dissent there will be fire, you know, under the ashes and burning. And there will be opportunities for extremist groups to recruit and cause trouble. Good to talk to you and get your views on this. Many thanks.
