Album No. 10 from the Foo Fighters tops this week's new releases [Seven in Seven]

Welcome to Seven in Seven, where each Thursday in this space we would typically take a look at concerts coming to the region over the next week. With most shows on hold due to the pandemic, here’s a look at seven of the best albums being released Feb. 5:
Foo Fighters — "Medicine at Midnight"
It's been quite the journey for the Foo Fighters from a completely solo mid-’90s project from ex-Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl to one of the most popular rock bands in music. They’ve gotten to the point on album number 10, "Medicine at Midnight," to be able to do whatever the hell they want. This time around it’s just nine songs clocking in at a lean 37 minutes. From the celebratory opener “Making a Fire” to the McCartney-esque “Chasing Birds” to the Queen-like guitar riffage of LP closer “Love Dies Young,” the record is like a trip down all the sonic highways — pun intended — that the now fully formed six-piece outfit have traveled.
