After years of planning, a casino opens in Danville

The Golden Nugget Danville wasted little time in using a temporary operating permit issued by the Illinois Gaming Board. 13 months after a groundbreaking ceremony the new casino opened to the public for the first time at 4 PM Saturday on Lynch Road in Danville's Eastgate area. Initially, the casino will be open eight hours a day, closed on Tuesdays.
