ABERDEEN, Miss. (WTVA) -- People in Aberdeen will soon choose a new mayor. Former Mayor Maurice Howard was removed from office after he pleaded guilty to embezzlement.
On Tuesday, March 9, 2021, four of the six candidates met at the Elkin Theater across from Aberdeen's City Hall for a debate.

One of the candidates is Kenyatta Howard, wife of the now former mayor.
Reverend James A. Cook is President of the Aberdeen/Monroe County NAACP spoke at the debate.
