The Des Moines Downtown Farmers' Market kicked off the 2021 season on Saturday, May 1, 2021, with new COVID-19 restrictions including one-way foot traffic, limited vendors and hand sanitizing stations.

It’s the phrase that was heard most often around the Downtown Des Moines Farmers’ Market on opening day Saturday as masked market coordinators, vendors and attendees filled the streets of the Court District for the popular event’s 46th year.
