Around 600 appointments for vaccinations in Limerick scheduled for today have been cancelled.
It follows updated guidance received from the National Immunisation Advisory Committee, and the Department of Health.
The advice is that the Astra Zeneca vaccine should not be given to anyone under 60.
The HSE last evening wrote to Hospital Groups and Community Healthcare Organisations to advise that all AstraZeneca Covid-19 Vaccination Clinics planned for today, Tuesday April 13th, should be cancelled.
Anybody due to attend an Astra Zeneca clinic is therefore advised not to do so.
It's estimated that around 600 appointments had been scheduled for the Raddisson Blu Hotel on the Ennis Road.
