Electrifying Design: A Century of Lighting at MFAH
Following last weekâs electrical nightmare, an art exhibit celebrating lighting devices may sound like pretty good timing. Starting Saturday, the Museum of Fine Arts Houston presents an exhibit that explores three aspects of lighting: different types, like a desk lamp or chandelier; the importance of the lightbulb (we Houstonians know that); and all the ways light can be manipulated. The immersive experience highlights (literally) lighting artists like Achille Castiglioni, Christian Dell, DRIFT, Greta Magnusson Grossman, Poul Henningsen, Ingo Maurer, Verner Panton, Gaetano Pesce, Gino Sarfatti, Ettore Sottsass, and Wilhelm Wagenfeld. These lights are on until May 16, and we sure hope they stay on.
