Pass level of 5,500 feet around southwest Montana could see up to 4 fresh inches of snow by late Friday night.
Gallatin County, along with several others around southwest Montana, are under a short-lived Winter Weather Advisory until 11pm Friday evening.
The main concern is heavy, wet snow on our mountain passes creating poor visibility situations. Please use extra caution if you must travel. This amount of mountain snow was not expected and the advisory was issued much later in the day than normal.
Heavy, wet snow was falling in Bozeman city limits shortly after 6pm and was starting to accumulate on roadways. Not more than an inch is expected to fall in town.
