2K college students avail of financial aid

A TOTAL of 2,236 college students in Central Visayas have availed of the Commission on Higher Education (Ched) 7’s Student Financial Assistance Programs (StuFAPs) for the academic year (AY) 2020-2021.
Melissa Castillote, person in charge of the Ched 7 scholarship office, made the report during a press conference on Thursday, May 20, 2021 as part of the Ched’s 27th founding anniversary celebration and first National Higher Education Day celebration from May 17 to 24, 2021.
She said 2,107 eligible students had availed of merit scholarships in the region, and there were 105 beneficiaries of grants-in-aid and 24 grantees of other StuFAPs.
These constitute a total funding of P41.7 million.
