COLOMBO (News 1st): Sri Lanka Customs plans to re-export another consignment of imported Coconut oil containing cancer-causing component Aflatoxin, which is unsuitable for human consumption.
Accordingly, 230 metric tonnes of substandard Coconut oil imported by Edirisinghe Edible Oil (Pvt) Ltd, will be re-exported on Tuesday (May. 04).
The consignment will be returned to the Malaysian Company from which it was imported to Sri Lanka.
The consignment of substandard Coconut oil has been loaded into 12 containers and it is stored at the Colombo International Container Terminals (CICT), at the Colombo Port.
