(File photo) MANILA - The Philippine National Police (PNP) will deploy a total of 16,820 police officers undergoing mandatory career courses and field training exercises for election duties. PNP chief, Gen. Dionardo Carlos said 1,208 Police Commissioned Officers (PCOs), 15,612 Police Non-Commissioned Officers (PNCOs), 1,007 police officers at the PNP main headquarters consisting of 611 PCOs undergoing Officers Senior Executive Course were turned over by the PNP Directorate for Human Resource and Doctrine Development (DHRDD) to the PNP Directorate for Personnel and Records Management (DPRM) during a ceremony in Camp Crame on Thursday afternoon. "Undeniably, there is no cause more worthy than the cause of ensuring that the loftiest exercise of the democratic right to suffrage by the Filipino citizens will be pursued in this forthcoming National and Local May 2022 Elections", Carlos said during the ceremony. Meanwhile, a simultaneous turnover of some 15,813 PCOs and PNCOs from the 17 police regional offices was undertaken by the respective regional task groups of the PNP Security Task Force National and Local Elections 2022. "As you assume election duties, may you be reminded of the primordial goal of every police officer to always provide a professional, fast, efficient, and courteous response to a legitimate citizen request for police service or assistance," said Carlos. Meanwhile, a total of 2,584 National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) personnel undergoing mandatory career courses have also been turned over to the Regional Operations and Management Division at the NCRPO headquarters in Camp Bagong Diwa, Bicutan, Taguig City. The students, comprising old and fresh members of police non-commissioned officer ranks, are currently taking up rank-related courses-- Public Safety Officers Candidate Course, Public Safety Senior Leadership Course, Public Safety Junior Leadership Course, and Public Safety Basic Recruit Course. They have been pulled out from police training centers in Baguio City, Tayabas, Quezon, and Lucena City. (PNA) }
