(Photo courtesy of Butuan CIO) BUTUAN CITY - A total of 10,234 residents from different barangays here were vaccinated on the first day of the Bayanihan, Bakunahan: National Vaccination Days on Monday, according to the city government. In a statement on Tuesday, the city information office (CIO) said of the total number of persons inoculated, 8,811 received their first shots of coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) vaccines, while 1,423 others got their second doses. "Most of the recipients of the vaccines were from 13 barangays covered by the mobile vaccination teams of the city government," the statement said. The barangays included Los Angeles, Ampayon, Bading, Banza, Baan Km3, Doongan, Baobaoan, Pangabugan, Tagabaca, Golden Ribbon, Fort Poyohon, Tungao, and Dankias. The CIO said the mobile vaccination will continue to reach out to other barangays until the three-day vaccination program ends on Wednesday. The mobile vaccination program is set to conduct vaccination in Barangays Buhangin, Cabcabon, Baan Riverside, Sto. Nino, Maibu, Villa Kananga, Lumbocan, Maon, San Mateo, San Vicente, Pagatpatan, Babag, Obrero, Ong Yiu, and Pianing. The office also urged city residents to visit designated vaccination sites for free Covid-19 vaccines. The vaccination sites are situated at the Robinsons Place Butuan, SM City Butuan, Father Saturnino Urios University-Main Gymnasium, MJ Santos Hospital, Butuan Doctors Hospital, Butuan Medical Center, the Philippine National Police Hospital, and the McDonald's Gaisano branch.
