COLOMBO (News 1st): The Director-General of Health Services confirmed that FIVE (05) COVID-19 deaths were reported in the country on Thursday (Mar. 04) raising Sri Lanka’s COVID-19 death toll to 489.
The details of the deceased are as follows:
01. A 53-year-old female from Ussapitiya. She was transferred from Mawanella Hospital to Kegalle Base Hospital, where she was diagnosed as infected with COVID-19 virus. Consequently she was transferred to Kandy General Hospital where she died on 22.02.2021. The cause of death is mentioned as Covid pneumonia.
02. A 78-year-old female from Giriulla. She was diagnosed as infected with COVID-19 virus while receiving treatment at a private hospital in Colombo. The she was transferred to Kothalawala Defence Hospital, where she died on 04.03.2021. The cause of death is mentioned as Covid pneumonia and multiple organ dysfunction.
