The Office of Engagement’s BEACON (Building Educational Achievement by Creating an Outreach Network) Scholars program is designed to provide incoming University of Utah students with assistance in achieving and maintaining academic success as well as staying connected during their first year.
This program will provide the opportunity for upper class (wo)men students to mentor incoming fresh(wo)men.
BEACON Mentors will make connections with students, faculty, and staff across the University of Utah community, gain experience in program planning and participate in professional development, expand their leadership skills, and engage in service opportunities.

The Utah College Advising Corps (UCAC) is a university-based college access program founded on the idea that all high school students deserve equal opportunities to enter institutions of higher education.
Established in August 2007 by a generous grant from the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation.
UCAC encourages Utah high school students to participate in the various higher education opportunities available to them through the state's nine colleges and universities and throughout the nation.
