Historian behind National Trust's imperial project launches extraordinary attack on ministers


The academic behind the National Trust s Woke review to identify properties with links to colonialism today astonishingly accused the government of  weaponising history by trying to stop Left-wing academics denigrating Britain s past.

Maurice Edelman - Amersham's politician and best-selling author

Swarms of parasitic wasps to be released at National Trust stately home to tackle tapestry-eating moths

Swarms of tiny parasitic wasps are going to be unleashed by the National Trust into one of its stately homes to stop moths eating priceless tapestries  
Common clothes moth larvae feed on woolens, silks and fur, and their diet threatens antique taxidermy, clothing, upholstery, and carpets across the charity’s historic properties.  
Hoping to replicate biological pest control in fruit farming, the National Trust will introduce 2000-strong swarms of the 0.5mm-long parasitoid wasp
Trichogramma evanescens which kills off moths by depositing its unhatched young in their eggs.  
They will be released in a one-year project at Anne Boleyn’s Norfolk birthplace Blickling Hall, which houses tapestries gifted by Russian Empress Catherine the Great and more clothes moths than any other Trust property.   ....
