John the potter A COMMUNITY group is fired up with excitement over a new electric kiln that will boost a local wellbeing project. Govanhill Baths Community Trust has received a new 325 litre electric kiln, a Raku kiln and associated equipment following a generous sponsorship from Denis Houlihan of Houlihan Pharmacies. The sponsorship was match-funded by Culture and Business Fund Scotland, bringing it to a total of £10,000. Fatima Uygun, manager of Govanhill Baths Community Trust, said: “We’re delighted with this sponsorship. Our ceramics courses are incredibly popular and the new upgraded equipment means even more people can get involved, which is great for community wellbeing. ....
