KARACHI: Law enforcers on Saturday claimed to have arrested seven suspected militants linked with the banned Islamic State group and Sindh Revolutionary Army in separate actions.
Pakistan Rangers Sindh and police conducted an intelligence-based action in Ittehad Town and arrested three suspects who were linked with IS, said a spokesperson.
The held militants were identified as Noor Mohammed alias Abu Darda, Hayatullah and Khan Bahadur alias Qari Basit.
The Rangers claimed to have seized arms, ammunition and explosive material from their custody. “The held suspects were involved in bomb and cracker attacks against Pakistan forces.” ....

KARACHI (Dunya News) - Police and Rangers during joint operations in different areas of Karachi arrested 13 accused involved in various crimes including terrorism and recovered two bodies from different areas.
In Karachi, SIU police conducted an operation in Bilal Colony and arrested four terrorists of a nationalist party. According to SSP Haider Raza, the group of arrested terrorists includes more than 20 terrorists. Several cases were registered against the arrested terrorists in Sindh. The arrested terrorists include Gulzar Ali, Habibullah, Fayyaz and Ghulam Muhammad.
Meanwhile, during a joint operation of Rangers and police in Orangi Town, accused Aftab Alam involved in robbery and drug trafficking was arrested. The accused broke into a house in Orangi Town on January 15 and looted Rs 1 million. ....

The Special Investigation Unit (SIU) police claimed to have arrested three bookies on Sunday.
According to SIU SSP Captain (Retd) Haider Raza, the SIU conducted a raid in Precinct 11, Bahria Town on a tip-off. Suspects Muhammad Altaf alias Bhoot alias Bhoor Bhandar, Sabir and Farhan were arrested and gambling articles and drugs were found in their possession, said the SSP.
Raza said that the apprehended suspects have confessed to their crime. The suspects told the police that they were gambling on PSL matches when the raid happened and that they had developed a special software for the purpose – ‘BetFair,’ which was being operated from Lahore, according to Raza. The SSP added that the arrested suspected had links with international bookies and gamblers. ....

'Famous' bookie arrested - Newspaper

KARACHI: Police’s Special Investigation Unit (SIU) on Thursday claimed to have arrested a “famous” bookie/gambler over charges of match fixing for ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL), SSP SIU retired Capt Haider Raza said.
The senior officer added that the arrest was the outcome of a recent meeting between law enforcement agencies and officials of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to curb such practice during ongoing matches of PSL being held at National Stadium Karachi.
According to the SIU statement, in continuation of action against match fixers/bookies and gamblers in follow-up of a meeting held on Feb 18 between PCB officials and members of law enforcement, the SIU received confidential information that a person was gambling on ongoing PSL-6 cricket matches and was present in an under-construction building in Bahadurabad. ....
