Hayden graduates first students from new school

The road in front of the new Hayden Valley School is called Breeze Basin Boulevard, and it lived up to its name Sunday afternoon when the school graduated its first senior class in its first outdoor graduation ceremony.
“Its called Breeze Basin for a reason, so hold on to your hats,” said District Superintendent Christy Sinner in opening remarks.
The 24 students in the Hayden High School Class of 2021 graduated in a sunny but rather blustery ceremony on the school’s new football field. It marked the end of a four-year path capped off by a move to a new school during a global pandemic. ....

Meet the group that helps dispose of Yellowstone bison carcasses

BILLINGS, Mont. (AP) A shared interest in bison migrating into the Gardiner Basin has created a unique partnership.
A group of bison carcass recyclers, known as the Buffalo Bridge Project, has garnered the attention of the InterAgency Bison Management Plan. IBMP is composed of federal, state and tribal officials who work together on Yellowstone bison management issues, and assisted in some of their tasks by members of conservation groups.
“Hunters can’t fathom that a bunch of white people are coming out with sleds and don’t want anything,” project member Epona told the Gazette in a 2016 story. “Hunters expect us to want money. That’s part of what makes this so special, that we’re just friends having fun.” ....
