Virginia added 3,591 new COVID-19 cases on Tuesday as the Lord Fairfax Health District added 109 new cases. The Health Department also reported 135 statewide hospitalizations and 51 deaths on Tuesday. Locally, Clarke County reported one new death. At their last meeting of the year last week, Roanoke School Board approved a bid for roofing projects at Handley High and Knight-Enloe Elementary schools. The board received six bids on the project and accepted the bid from Alabama Roofing in Anniston in the amount of $495,000. The work will begin as soon as possible and will be completed soon, weather permitting.
