A Columbus woman is dead after the Franklin County Sheriff s Office said she was hit by a car while walking in a crosswalk Wednesday morning in Prairie Township. Helen Powell, 69, was transported by the Prairie Township Fire Department to OhioHealth Grant Medical Center in critical condition after the crash, which occurred around 8 a.m. at the intersection of North Murray Hill Road and U.S. 40/West Broad Street. She died at 12:47 p.m., according to the sheriff s office. Powell was crossing North Murray Hill Road in a marked crosswalk when a driver of a Honda Civic headed east on West Broad Street turned left onto North Murray and struck her. The driver, identified by deputies as William Filice, 60, of Galloway, was uninjured. ....
