Tributes have been paid to founding director and first acting CEO of Shannon Chamber and Irish Air Corps veteran Eddie Ryan who died this week. Shannon Chamber Board and executive have expressed saddened to hear of the passing of a founding director of the Chamber, and first acting CEO, Eddie Ryan. Eddie’s association with aviation spanned a lifetime of over 70 years and it was fitting that he was awarded the Royal Aeronautical Society Distinguished Service Award for this lifetime of dedication to aviation and inspiring many young people. Remembering Eddie, Shannon Chamber CEO Helen Downes says: “Without much help from anyone, Eddie established the Aviation Museum, and along with Jane Magill has since developed it into one of the few visitor attractions currently in Shannon. ....
80 new jobs at Shannon Technical Services Share EIGHTY additional jobs are to be created by Shannon Free Zone aviation services company, Shannon Technical Services by the end of 2023. The jobs will be in operations, commercial/administraton and aviation technical services. Welcoming today’s announcement Shannon Chamber CEO Helen Downes said; “It is very heartening to watch a company grow its market share to the extent that it can announce the delivery of such commendable employment levels for Shannon by the end of its fourth year in operation. “Shannon’s link with aviation is long-standing and to have a new nameplate operating from the Free Zone, whose leaders and employees have the industry experience and capability to make such an immediate impact in the global aviation market is most encouraging. ....
Clare FM 22nd April 2021 Shannon Chamber has expressed confidence that businesses within the aviation sector can bounce back. It comes as Shannon Technical Services has announced 80 new jobs across Operations, Commercial, Administration and Aviation Technical Services, with 57 of those positions supported by Enterprise Ireland. The company currently employs 40 people at its base the Shannon Free Zone will expand its operations there before the end of 2023, while it’s also opening an office in Dublin.
