School Construction News By Eric Althoff HERMOSA BEACH, Calif. The Hermosa Vista School, located in the Southern California beachfront community of Hermosa Beach, opened to raves this spring, with students even able to attend in-person classes at the new learning institution. Hermosa Vista School encompasses both a main two-story administration/classroom/library building as well as a second building that can serve multiple purposes as needed. The new school campus, located at 417 25 th St., sits on the site of the former North School. The old school was removed to make room for Hermosa Vista, where Hermosa’s third and fourth graders will attend classes. Erickson Hall, with offices in Escondido in San Diego County, was the project’s general contractor. ....

Miller stood on the newly installed astroturf infield, facing a large, newly installed scoreboard that read Logan Field. ....
Logan Goodwinâs love of sports and his compassion for others will live on in the community several years after his death, his family hopes, with a renovated baseball field named after him in Hermosa Beach. Logan was an avid sports fan and loved playing second base in the Hermosa Beach Little League. After he died at age 12 in a skiing accident four years ago during a family vacation in Colorado, a memorial fund was created in his name to keep his legacy alive and to improve schools and facilities in his hometown. The Goodwin family, including parents Todd and Joann, donated $50,000 from an online fundraiser to the Hermosa Beach Little League that was used to provide a new backstop, scoreboard and artificial turf at âLogan Goodwin Field,â which was the East Field at Clark Field in Hermosa Beach. ....
