A Democratic-backed bill to clarify that cops can inform parents was introduced last week and appears to be on the fast track. It’s a clean-up bill of the last marijuana clean-up bill. The first clean up bill was a way to get Gov. Phil Murphy to sign weed legalization while assuaging concerns from the Legislative Black Caucus. But now the leader of that caucus, Sen. Ron Rice, is OK with allowing parental notification. So how did the original clean-up bill end up including language that barred parental notification? I don’t know. ....
