Graeme Matthews wants a pedestrian crossing to be installed at a busy junction regularly used by schoolchildren, mothers with prams, as well as his own disabled mother. Mr Matthews believes the lack of crossing where Langley Road meets St Albans Road is putting pedestrians at risk and he fears someone could die. Around a week ago, he started a petition to try and get support for his wish to have a crossing installed and nearly 200 people have signed it. ....

The alleyway which provided access to Moneyhole Park from Stirling Way in was blocked with a sign stating that it was not a public path. In some areas of the county – including Dacorum, East Herts, Hertsmere, St Albans and Three Rivers – there are Green Party candidates standing in every single county council division. Currently there isn’t a single Green Party councillor on Hertfordshire County Council. But Cllr Simon Grover – who has been the only Green Party member of St Albans District Council since 2011 – says electing even just one or two Green Party members to a council can make a difference. ....
