Hardin-Houston hires band, music teacher
HOUSTON – The Hardin-Houston Local School Board of Education hired a new band and music teacher and awarded supplemental contracts among its actions at its May 17 meeting.
The board hired Emily Kramer as the fifth through 12th grade band and music teacher for the 2021-22 school year, contingent upon a successful background check and proper certification.
It accepted the resignation of Belinda Hoelscher as cafeteria cook.
The board employed numerous individuals on one-year supplemental contracts for the 2021-22 school year including Ron Boeke, junior high/high school boys cross country coach; Bill McKinney, junior high/high school boys cross country coach; Ron Boeke, junior high/high school girls cross country coach; Bill McKinney, junior high/high school girls cross country coach; Haley Meyer, eighth grade volleyball coach; Nate Fridley, golf coach; Mark Platfoot, varsity boys basketball coach; Steve Mowery, freshman boys ....

Hardin-Houston Board of Education hosts organizational meeting
HOUSTON – The Hardin-Houston Local School Board of Education held regular and organizational board meetings on Jan. 11.
During the regular meeting, the board employed Deb Smith as a teacher under the 21st Century Grant for the 2020-21 school year and employed Beth Shaffer as the assistant varsity softball coach for the 2020-21 school year.
The board also approved all treasurer recommendations.
During the organizational meeting, the board elected Christine Helman as president of the Board of Education for 2021 and elected Jason Shaffer as vice president for 2021.
It approved $3,000 for the Board Service Fund for 2021 and also adopted the rate of $50 per meeting, not to exceed 15 meetings per calendar year. ....

Hardin-Houston approves leave for teachers
HOUSTON – The Hardin-Houston Local School Board of Education approved leave for two teachers among its actions at the Dec. 21 board meeting.
The board approved long-term sick leave for teacher Andrea Kittel and approved maternity leave for teacher Lauren Schwieterman.
It employed Rebecca Ryan as a classified substitute for the 2020-21 school year.
The board approved a stipend to Becky Heitman, as transportation coordinator, for the 2020-21 school year.
The Board of Education approved Ryan Maier as president pro tem for the reorganizational meeting on Jan. 11.
The board approved the cost principles-spending federal funds and procurement- federal grants/funds school board policies. It also approved all treasurer recommendations and authorized renewal of membership to Ohio School Boards Association for 2021. ....
