Homicide detectives are investigating after the body of a young man was found in a burnt-out car in Sydney s south-west.
Emergency services were called to a vehicle fire on the Hume Road in Smithfield, near Parramatta, about 6pm yesterday.
After firefighters extinguished the blaze, police discovered the body of a man inside.

The man is yet to be formally identified but is believed to be aged in his 20s.
The crime scene is being examined by specialist forensic officers and the Homicide Squad has been called in to assist detectives with the investigation.
A post-mortem examination will be conducted to determine the cause of death, but it is being treated as suspicious.

Emergency crews discovered the body when they were alerted to a car on fire on Hume Road in Smithfield, Sydney s western suburbs, at about 6pm on Saturday.
Shocking video from the scene showed black smoke billow, as the flames engulfed the car.
A fire engine was also seen reversing away from the blazing car to keep a safe distance.
