The cordon in Upper Street on February 4 - Credit: Andre Langlois A 21-year-old man has appeared in court charged with attempted murder following a stabbing in Upper Street, near Canonbury Lane, last week. Charlie O’Bryan, of Upper Street, was arrested on Monday (February 8) on suspicion of attempted murder. He was charged later that day with attempted murder and carrying an offensive weapon. London Ambulance Service, London’s Air Ambulance, and Met Police officers were called to reports of a stabbing at 3.30pm on Thursday (February 4). Teenager charged with murder of 15-year-old Romario Opia News • Jan 29, 2021 08:14 GMT Detectives investigating the murder of 15-year-old Romario Opia in Islington have charged a 17-year-old. The 17-year-old boy [B] was arrested in the early hours of Thursday, 28 January and charged with murder on Friday, 29 January. He will appear in custody at Highbury Magistrates’ Court on Friday, 29 January. Police were called to Holland Walk, N19, on Monday, 25 January, at approximately 17:30hrs following a report of a stabbing. Officers and London Ambulance Service found Romario suffering a stab wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene a short while later. A 16-year-old male [A], who was arrested on suspicion of murder on Tuesday, 26 January, has been released on bail until a date in late February. ....
A different 16-year-old was initially arrested on suspicion of affray but has been released with no further action. Ch Supt Raj Kohli, commander of the Central North Command Unit, said: “A young person’s life has been taken and our thoughts are with his family and friends who have lost someone very special to them. “I know our community will be shocked and upset by this incident. Our officers share your sadness, and we have a team dedicated to tracking down those who committed this crime. Det Ch Insp Neil John, who is leading the investigation, said: Our investigation is continuing at pace.
