“How can a response to despair be hope?” That, says architect Nina Cooke John, was the foundational question behind the Black Artist + Designers Guild s Obsidian Virtual Concept House >P, an interactive virtual showhouse debuting today. In it, 25 creators architects, interior designers, artists, makers, and more have conceptualized the Black family home of the future in a project that serves as a referendum on design, race, and life in America post-COVID.
