Area police departments pursued a stolen vehicle late Wednesday afternoon, but the pursuit was ultimately terminated. According to a statement from the Hartland Police Department, an officer spotted a stolen vehicle and tried to make a traffic stop. Instead of stopping, the vehicle sped away. The officer pursued the vehicle and was assisted by the village of Pewaukee Police Department, Waukesha County Sheriff s Department, Wisconsin State Patrol and city of Waukesha Police Department. The pursuit was terminated in the city of Waukesha, Hartland police said. The Waukesha Police Department confirmed the pursuit was terminated when the vehicle left the department s jurisdiction. No one was taken into custody, Waukesha police said. ....
