SOUTH WINDSOR, Conn. The search for Jessica Edwards, 30, of South Windsor continued Friday with family members and friends concerned for her safety. Edwards has not been seen for days. 
She was first reported missing on Monday and police are looking for any information that might tell them where she is. 
On Friday morning, family members went to Hartford to search the boat launch in hopes to find clues of her whereabouts.  ....

Teachers, first responders, postal staff should be next in line for COVID vaccine, federal panel recommends

The Reservoir nursing home in West Hartford was among the first long-term care facilities in Connecticut to begin vaccinating its residents against coronavirus.
After front-line health care workers and nursing home residents receive the COVID-19 vaccine, a broader class of “essential workers” – including teachers, first responders, correction employees and postal staff – should be next in line for the shot, along with people 75 and older, an advisory panel to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has recommended.
Connecticut last week began vaccinating health care workers and nursing home residents. A shipment of roughly 31,000 immunizations from Pfizer was divided among the state’s hospitals and some long-term care facilities. Following federal approval of the Moderna vaccine on Friday, Connecticut is expected to get 63,300 doses ....

Frontline workers began receiving COVID-19 vaccinations Monday, as the nation battles a second surge of the pandemic that is filling hospital beds and pushing resources to the brink.
A Hartford HealthCare doctor was among the first in Connecticut to receive the vaccine.
Dr. Keith Grant rolled up the sleeve of his white coat Monday as one of the first 14 workers in line for Pfizer’s two-phase shot, which has shown to be 95% effective. ....

CONNECTICUT Connecticut s first day of coronavirus vaccine rollout went smoothly after weeks of planning brought the state to the anticipated moment.
I m sure there will be challenges. I m sure there will be dry ice issues, but so far day one and the preparation for this over the last couple of weeks has been pretty effective, Gov. Ned Lamont said at a news conference.
Lamont anticipates getting 129,000 vaccine doses by the end of next week and 500,000 by the end of January. Two doses are required for Pfizer s vaccine. An emergency use authorization from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration is also expected for Moderna s vaccine candidate that vaccine also requires two doses. ....

Frontline workers began receiving COVID-19 vaccinations Monday, as the nation battles a second surge of the pandemic that is filling hospital beds and pushing resources to the brink.
A Hartford HealthCare doctor was among the first in Connecticut to receive the vaccine.

The vaccine was part of the state’s first shipment of nearly 32,000 doses from Pfizer, which has major research operations in Groton. ....
