We have watched in astonishment and then horror as temperatures continued to creep upwards. On June 27, Lytton’s temperature of 46.6 had already surpassed the previous Canadian record of 45 degrees Celsius, recorded in 1937. On June 28, It reached 47.9 and on June 29, 49.6.
