Police, electric company respond to downed power lines in Cape Coral Published: July 7, 2021 9:18 PM EDT Updated: July 7, 2021 11:33 PM EDT Recommended Cape Coral Police Department and Lee County Electric Cooperative responded to downed power lines that caused thousands of outages Wednesday night. According to CCPD, police were at the intersection of Hancock Bridge Parkway and Cultural Park Boulevard, where the power lines went down. It caused more than 3,000 customers to lose power. The LCEC outage map showed power was restored to almost 100% customers in the area Wednesday night. The cause of the downed power lines is unknown at this time. Writer: ....

Now, police are on the hunt for the shooter. This shooting happened early Sunday morning at a plaza on Hancock Bridge Parkway near SW Pine Island Road. Now, the entire plaza is roped off with crime scene tape. Cape Coral Police say several people were involved in the argument that lead to one person being shot. People who work and live near the plaza are left with an uneasy feeling knowing this happened so close by. ....
Cape Coral police conducted an investigation in the parking lot at Santa Barbara Center II off Hancock Bridge Parkway in Cape Coral for several hours Sunday morning. Police units were at the plaza until early morning talking with people at the scene which was focused mainly on the west end of the plaza near a restaurant, cell phone tore and other smaller businesses. Police removed crime scene tape that surrounded a large portion of the parking lot before 8 a.m. and left the scene. No information on the investigation was released by Cape Coral police by 9 a.m. Sunday. ....
