Hadley Town Meeting will decide on river campsites, levee study, budget By SCOTT MERZBACH HADLEY Formalizing a process to give landowners the right to have multiple campsites along the Connecticut River, and continuing a study to protect Hadley center from possible floods, will be decided by voters at annual Town Meeting Saturday. The 28-article warrant, including an $18.06 million omnibus budget, begins Saturday at 1 p.m. in the playing fields next to Hopkins Academy. The Planning Board-sponsored article related to dealing with the recreational vehicles along the river revises the existing 1987 flood overlay district bylaw, instituting a fee of $100 per camper every three years, allowing multiple RVs on a site, and mandating that each site have at least 2,500 square feet of land and a minimum of 25 feet between campers. ....

Paul Narus, owner of Exotic Auto Repair, and local land-use consultant Randy Izer told the Planning Board on Tuesday that the business, founded in 2012, anticipates moving from 184 Russell St. to 12 Russell St., a 0.17-acre site at the corner of Route 9 and Cross Path Road and just a few hundred yards east of the Coolidge Bridge. ....

UMass Police is warning that beginning Thursday afternoon when the graduate commencement is held, and lasting throughout the day Friday, when more than 6,500 undergraduates get their diplomas, the volume of vehicles will be substantial, and some roads will be closed.
