Hatfield man arrested on OUI, firearms charges >Published: 7/14/2021 2:53:17 PM HADLEY A Hatfield man whose vehicle was stopped for speeding on River Drive Sunday night was arrested on firearms and impaired driving charges, according to Hadley Police. Garret R. Pitts, 28, was taken into custody at 9:31 p.m. on charges of carrying a firearm while intoxicated, improper storage of a firearm, operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, negligent operation of a motor vehicle to endanger, speeding, and possession of an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle, said Police Chief Michael Mason. Pitts pleaded not guilty to the charges in Eastern Hampshire District Court in Belchertown on Monday and was released with conditions. He is expected back in court on Sept. 15.

UMass Amherst professor arrested on drunk driving charge after striking baby stroller in Hadley, police say By Travis Andersen Globe Staff,Updated May 18, 2021, 2:01 p.m. Email to a Friend A research professor at UMass Amherst was arrested Monday afternoon in Hadley for allegedly driving drunk and striking a baby stroller carrying a 17-month-old child, though the baby wasn’t hurt, according to officials and legal filings. Hadley police identified the motorist as Tammy Haut Donahue, 43, of Amherst, who was arraigned Tuesday in East Hampshire District Court on charges of OUI and negligent operation of a motor vehicle. A not guilty plea was entered for Haut Donahue, who was released on personal recognizance, court records show.
