JAMMU, July 16: The Central Bureau of Investigations (CBI) today conducted searches at nine places across Jammu and Srinagar including residences of three retired IAS officers, one of whom now a National Conference leader and private persons for their involvement in Roshni land scam at Karan Nagar in Srinagar.
The CBI has detected documents pertaining to property in Srinagar, Jammu and New Delhi, fix deposits, cash and bank lockers during the raids.

Migrant doctors and other healthcare professionals who have contracted Covid-19 while caring for NHS patients sick with the virus say they are devastated that a parliamentary bill that would have given them the right to remain in the UK has been postponed.
The healthcare workers said they were holding out hope that the second reading of the private members’ bill – which had been scheduled for 15 January and is now cancelled – could give them immigration security if passed.
The immigration (health and social care staff) bill 2019-21 calls for migrant healthcare workers to be granted indefinite leave to remain. It is similar to the citizenship being granted in France to frontline migrant workers.

SRINAGAR, Dec 30: Jammu and Kashmir administration has suspended two executive engineers and 11 other officers over charges of “delinquency”. The exact nature of the charges is not known or spelt out.
The suspensions were made public vide government order today that said, “Pending enquiry, the delinquent officers/officials of Power Development Department and Finance Department are hereby placed under suspension with immediate effect, in terms of Rule 31 of Jammu and Kashmir Civil Services (Classification, Control and Appeal) Rules, 1956 (sic.).”
