Like other projects, no traffic diversion or project plan boards have been displayed at this project site too. Four-wheeler drivers are unable to take the road as a portion is blocked and unlevelled near Luxmi Cinema, while two-wheeler riders face inconvenience in crossing the area. Road near Clock Tower still unlevelled After installing stormwater drainage pipes on old GT Road near Clock Tower, the MC is yet to ensure levelling of the road surface. As a result, commuters continue to face inconveniences. The civic body had earlier asked the contractor concerned to ensure levelling of the road. ....

Ludhiana, May 18 Though SAD and BJP leaders have been raising questions over the Municipal Corporation’s plan to hire a private firm for the recovery of water supply and sewer charges in the city, a committee led by Senior Deputy Mayor Sham Sundar Malhotra has given nod to float tenders to invite interested firms for the task. Malhotra said: “We have made the final decision in today’s meeting that a firm will be hired to conduct the recovery of pending water supply and sewer charges from users. MC officials have been asked to float the tenders for the same.” ....

Ludhiana, December 17 To control solid waste in the Buddha Nullah, the Municipal Corporation, Ludhiana, is going to deploy around 50 employees to keep vigil on persons who dump waste into the nullah. Challans will be issued to those who are found dumping waste into it. Even an FIR can be lodged against the violators, according to MC officials. MC Commissioner Pardeep Kumar Sabharwal said the MC employees would be deployed at various locations along the Buddha Nullah within a couple of days. “The employees will keep a check on the nullah so that nobody dumps waste into the drain. If anybody found dumping solid waste into the Nullah, action will be taken against the violator,” he said. ....
