Texas lawmaker Philip Cortez has reunited with 56 other Democrats breaking quorum in D.C. in a fight to squash the highly contested election integrity bills with one already advancing out of the Senate during the special-called legislative session.
This comes just days after two House Democratic Caucus Members were confirmed to have returned to Texas: State Rep. Harold Dutton, Jr. and State Rep. Cortez. While Dutton Jr. s return was reportedly planned, Cortez exit was unexpected, prompting criticism from Democrats and requests for his return.
