Already, some of the property has been used for seniors housing at the RiverBend complex.
The remaining parcel, wedged between RiverBend and Neil Ridenour s home, was the piece approved for a 180-bed facility proposed by Riverside Retirement Centre Ltd.
Riverside president Mary McDougall said the facility will be secure and will house 130 beds to start - 125 publicly subsidized by IHA, and five private.
But the zoning request was for 180 beds, and she said there is a possibility of adding space for 50 more beds in the future. ....
