Her nomination centered on a situation that called on her to combine those standout qualities. A nurse who had worked at The Baby Place was pregnant and found out her baby had a genetic disorder that was incompatible with life. “When Hannah found this out, she began planning things based on the patient’s wishes and went above and beyond to fulfill them,” a colleague who nominated Hannah for The Daisy Award said. The patient wanted to help her baby experience as many things as possible while she was carrying the child. Hannah helped arrange trips including a visit to Dollywood and the beach. She stayed in close communication with the patient. Hannah took the time to learn the patient’s wishes, so that when the baby would pass the mother and family would not have to worry about any of the details. ....
