The National Food Buffer Stock Company has denied reports that it is replacing eggs with Chinese mackerel in Senior High Schools nationwide. Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Buffer Stock Company, Hanan Abdul-Wahab told Kwami Sefa Kayi in an interview on Peace FM s morning show Kokrokoo that the allegation was unfounded. That is not the case . . . since September 2017, mackerel has been part of the food items supplied by Buffer Stock to second cycle institutions. We are responsible for the supply of non-perishable food items and that includes mackerel. Eggs which are classified as perishable is supposed to be supplied by the school itself.
