A series of unfortunate incidents ended in heartrending incident in the city, after a woman died by suicide by jumping before a speeding train in the Hadapsar area. According to information with the police, the deceased woman identified as 34-year-old Shobha Shewale took the step on the night of August 3, soon after a theft incident at her home. After the burglary, she had lodged a case at Hadapsar police station (PS) against unknown persons. What compounded the situation was that her husband and two children were at the same time admitted to a hospital for dengue, and the robbery had added to her woes. ....
Pune: The city crime branch recovered 15 stolen motorcycles, worth Rs4.81 lakh, from the possession of two men arrested last week. A team headed by inspector Sunil Pandharkar and sub-inspector Gunga Jagtap arrested Maruti Madhav Giri (22) of Hadapsar and Umesh Bharat Chougule (22) of Manjari following a tip-off. Giri is a resident of Parbhani and Chougule is from Solapur. During investigations, the police recovered 15 stolen motorcycles from their possession. “They used to ride stolen motorcycles to their native places.
