Nnamdi Kanu in handcuffs A few hours after leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu reappeared before a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja, presided over by Justice Binta Nyako, Tuesday, the Federal Government has disclosed that he was intercepted and arrested through collaborative efforts of Nigerian intelligence and security services. The Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice (AGF), Abubakar Malami, who briefed the media in company of the Inspector General of Police, Usman Baba Ahmed, however, declined to disclose where he was nabbed. But contrary to speculations that the IPOB leader was arrested in the United Kingdom, it was gathered that his interception took place in Czech Republic. ....

A Texan property tycoon embroiled in a fight over money with his Belarusian model ex-wife could go to jail if he does not pay her £50,000 in the next two weeks. US-born Preston Haskell IV was ordered to shell out more than £5million to the mother of his three children, Alesia Vladimirovna Haskell, in early 2020. The sum was expected to be paid in installments, but Mrs Haskell on Monday told a High Court judge that Mr Haskell had not paid money in breach of orders. Mr Justice Moor ruled that Mr Haskell s failure to pay Mrs Haskell £50,000 in breach of another judge s order was in contempt of court. ....

The seriously ill mother-of-two settled a case against the HSE over the alleged mishandling of her cervical smear tests on Wednesday. After the CervicalCheck scandal emerged in 2018, Leo Varadkar – then Taoiseach – said no woman involved should have to go to court. Mr Varadkar was challenged on this by members of the Opposition during Leaders’ Questions on Thursday. Ms Bennett was among hundreds of women affected by the controversy around incorrect smear test results. A 2018 review identified at least 221 women diagnosed with cervical cancer who were not previously told about misreported smear tests, and could have been alerted to the early stages of cancer. ....

Alesia Vladimirovna Haskell, 40, began legal action against Preston Haskell IV, 54, in 2016 after their marriage collapsed due to his unfaithfulness and abuse of cocaine and alcohol , a top family judge said. US-born Mr Haskell was ordered to shell out about £5.7million to the mother of his three children, paid in installments, in early 2020. Mr Haskell claimed at the time that he had nothing to give his ex-wife as he owed £55million to others - and was only getting by due to bail-outs from his super-rich father. ....
