Chang Ko-chi retrospective held at Sun Yat-sen Hall By Sherry Hsiao / Staff reporter, with CNA A retrospective exhibition of artist Chang Ko-chi (張克齊) is on display at the Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall in Taipei until June 14, the hall said in a statement on Saturday. The exhibition, titled “Beautiful Scene” (麗水風華), opened on Friday at the hall’s Chung-shan National Gallery, it said. It features 78 paintings, 22 sketches and 12 commemorative coins portraying Chinese zodiac signs by the artist, as well as nine books on his art, the hall said. Exhibition visitors look at paintings by Chang Ko-chi in Taipei’s Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall yesterday.

Fresh calls have been made for speed restrictions through a Northumberland hamlet. Thursday, 4th February 2021, 7:00 am Belford Parish Council wants the 60mph speed limit through Middleton to be halved following the latest accident when a car crashed into a wall. “Something needs to be done about it,” said Cllr Kerry Noble, who said it was the fourth accident he could remember there. He suggested a 30mph speed limit from the East Lodge gate to beyond the Swinhoe crossroads or a 40mph zone from the top of the North Bank to the A1. Middleton, near Belford. He said: I know Northumberland County Council say it doesn’t fall within the priorities but, as a parish council, surely we’re entitled to make the suggestion given how many times it has been brought up.

Happy New Year to you. Our visitors to the zoo over the Christmas holidays have been asking us lots of questions about animal hibernation, which we keepers love. The Oasis is intended as a resource for educating and sharing information- and there’s plenty for us to learn, as well It made me walk around the zoo with fresh eyes, thinking why more of our animals which visitors expect to be hibernating are very much not. Most bats hibernate, for example, but tropical bat species do not - hence our huge fruit bats live in the tropical hall where it’s always toasty and warm, happily staying awake all winter.
