Olympic showjumping coach in Swindon court accused of rape

A SHOWJUMPING coach has appeared in court accused of rape.
John Sillett, 54, an Olympic show jumping coach, is accused of raping a woman between January and November 2015.
He also faces allegations of sexually assaulting a girl under 13 in 2010 and sexually assaulting a woman in Marlborough, France and Spain.
The alleged assaults are said to have taken place between 2010 and 2017.
Appearing before Swindon Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday morning, Sillett, of Farley Hill, Wokingham, entered no pleas to the 12 charges. However, he indicated he would be pleading not guilty at the crown court.
Dressed in a dark jacket and jeans, he spoke only to confirm his name, date of birth, address and pleas. He was bailed by chairman of the bench Gail Chilcott to appear before Salisbury Crown Court on June 4. ....

BMW driver caught over the cocaine drug-driving limit

A BMW driver who was caught over the cocaine limit was banned from the roads for a year.
Oliver Slade, 26, was stopped at the Marlborough Road service station on October 29 last year.
Police initially stopped him as there was an issue with the hire agreement on the 69-plate BMW 520 he was driving.
Officers asked him to complete a drugs wipe, which came back positive for cocaine. Blood tests showed he was three times the limit for cocaine and four times the limit for by-product benzoylecgonine.
Slade, of Northampton Street, Swindon, was found guilty in his absence of two counts of drug driving. He has no previous convictions. ....

A FARINGDON man breached a restraining order within days of its imposition – after his ex-partner saw him on a night out in Swindon.
Mohsin Khan, 21, was given the two year restraining order by Oxford magistrates on Friday, April 30, as he was handed a 12 month conditional discharge for criminal damage.
But just two days later, he breached the order. Prosecutor Kate Prince told Swindon Magistrates’ Court on Monday that police were called by the ex-partner’s sister and told an “incident” had taken place between Khan and his former girlfriend. ....
