All roads will lead to Colombo s picturesque BMICH as it hosts the 42nd Observer SLT Mobitel Schools Cricketers of the Year 2020 award ceremony starting at 5.30 pm today.
Sri Lanka’s leading English Newspaper with the largest circulation the Sunday Observer will host the Mega Show for the 43rd consecutive year since 1979. Sri Lanka’s national mobile service provider SLT Mobitel will sponsor the show for the 15th consecutive year.
When the Covid-19 pandemic hit all over the world early last year, all global activities came to a complete standstill. Hence, there was no exception in Sri Lanka as sports events too came to a complete stop after Royal-Thomian Battle of the Blues encounter in mid-March last year. The new Management Committee of Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) appointed by the Sports Minister, Namal Rajapaksa, met the media at SLC headquarters with its Chairman, Professor Arjuna de Silva emphasising that nobody was working to anybody’s agendas, and that he and his committee was there to solely fulfill what was expected of him by the sports minister in the short space of one month in the run up to the May 22 annual general meeting.
Prof de Silva also announced that a T20 Legends match will go on as planned. 
He said that  would be a good opportunity for the national players to shape up in view of the next T20 World Cup. ....
