A severe storm has ripped through surban homes after Cyclone Niran was upgraded to a category three system off Queensland s east coast.
The storm battered homes with heavy rainfall and strong winds in Springfields Lakes near Ipswich, Queensland on Tuesday.
With winds reaching up to 130km/h, tarpaulins were ripped off from constructions sites.

Ergon Energy has restored power to 35,000 homes since Monday after winds reached up to 185km/h.
The Bureau of Meterology said Cyclon Niran has now moved away from the Queensland coast, but is expected to rapidly intensify.
