Cycle challenge to celebrate 75 years of Crook's RAFA

A RAF veteran has raised more than £400 for a national military charity s fund raising challenge.
Phil Chinery was one of 800 cyclists who joined together - across six continents and 20 countries - to clock up 24,901 miles, equivalent to the world s circumference.
Mr Chinery who is vice chair of the Crook and District Branch of the RAF Association and former member of the Royal Observer Corps used an exercise bike to cycle 75 miles on the forefront of the Spitfire Club in Crook.
Mr Chinery said: Yes, I was overwhelmed with the support received from both the businesses and people of the town - considering the warm weather and pandemic restriction. ....
