A COMMUNITY arts and sport centre in Bishops Castle has had an early Christmas present. SpArC has been awarded a grant from Postcode Neighbourhood Trust, a grant giving charity funded entirely by players of People’s Postcode Lottery. It comes at the end of a year of severe disruption and loss of income because of enforced closures. The venue applied for support in the summer to enable it to run the theatre at a reduced capacity, to comply with social distancing rules during this pandemic. The theatre recovery project will run until March 2021. Now the venue aims to have events every week, with a reduced socially distanced audience capacity of around 40, compared with a usual maximum of 140. ....
