Although the state has a long way to go before enough people are inoculated to reach herd immunity, people say they’re enjoying the benefits of getting shots.

Texas lets residents unmask, but many are keeping covered as orders meant to slow virus end
Although a statewide mandate ended Wednesday, many stores and other businesses aren’t making any changes yet.

After nearly a year, Texans were officially allowed to gather unmasked Wednesday as a statewide mask mandate ended on the anniversary of Dallas County’s first confirmed case of the novel coronavirus.
