Since opening for outdoor service on April 12, The Stansfield Arms has been inundated with calls for table bookings, and staff are doing their best to accommodate people.
“We are getting hundreds of enquiries,” said front of house manager Jak Locker. “With the sun shining everyone wants to come to the pub. It is a great atmosphere - people have been taking selfies as they have their first pint.”
Although it is wise to book in advance at the Apperley Bridge inn, some walk-ins are able to be seated. “People can be lucky, but we are very busy. In the first week we reopened we averaged more than 400 customers every day.” ....

I was diagnosed with Stargardt’s disease a degenerative eye condition at the age of 11, and it was my parents who first swooped in like Dumbo’s feather to change the course of my life.
I cannot imagine how devastating it was for them to hear that I was legally blind. Yet even in that life-changing moment, I remember my mum wiping tears away from her face and saying to me: “You are amazing, you can do anything and your disability does not define who you are.” It is this absolute belief in me that has allowed me to do so much in my life from skydiving in Argentina to riding motorbikes in Vietnam. ....
